Working primarily in oils, in her practice Irina’s capturing small, intimate, often overlooked moments in life, creating a personal narrative with a sense of sentimental longing for something unattainable, whether it would be an object or a feeling.
Her realistic canvases are often focused on sensation, texture, human emotion and memory.
She draws her inspiration from various sources which includes film stills, shots from found videos as well as her own photographs. Carefully selected, images are edited, cropped, altered in color and translated onto the canvas with soft brushwork.
